About Us

Playing out of a small town in Kansas notorious for kicking out good rock and roll bands, Plan B formed in December of 2006 in Hays. The idea to start up a band was initially conceived by life-long friends Pat Toepfer and Jeff Durall. After hashing over the "what if's" the thoughts became reality. The third member, Kris Fair was asked to play keyboards and then it was time to find a bass player. Pat's brother Phil was drafted and the band began rehearsing as a four piece. Soon later, Pat's childhood friend Kevin Anderson climbed aboard and Plan B went from a four piece to a five piece overnight. Months passed and new bassist Ronnie Hendershott was added to the band.

After the first few gigs, it was time to find a soundman and the decision was easy. Chad Speier was called and 5 minutes later he was drooling all over the new equipment and hasn't looked back since.

Writing Original Songs was the original motivation for the band and PLAN B has finally begun writing and recording a few. Click on the audio player at the top of the page to listen to the first Plan B Original Song, entitled, "Believe."  You may also listen to covers of "Kryptonite", "The Break-Up Song" and "Wonderful Tonight."  Chris Brungardt of the band Power Groove plays guitar on the Wonderful Tonight Track.  While you're here, click on the Videos link above to watch videos of Plan B in action.
